SCCtv General Manager Wins National Murrow
SCCtv/IRIS Education General Manager John Sharify has been awarded the 2008 National Edward R. Murrow Award for Writing which recognizes the top large market broadcast news writer in the country.  The Edward R. Murrow Awards, awarded by the Radio-Television News Directors Association, honor outstanding achievements in electronic journalism.  Murrow's pursuit of excellence in journalism embodies the spirit of the awards that carry his name.  John has the rare distinction of being a three time winner of the coveted National Murrow Award for Writing, receiving the award in 2004, 2007 and now, 2008.  The SCCtv/IRIS Education staff congratulates John on this unique achievement.

Safety in Translation

SCCtv is currently working with the City of Seattle to translate into five more languages the disaster preparedness video we created previously.  The new translations should be available this fall.  You can view the video in English on our IRIS Education site on-line or view it in English, Cantonese, Somali, Tigrinya, Amharic, Spanish, Tagalog, Cambodian, Oromo and Vietnamese by visiting the city’s Disaster Preparedness site.
