SCCtv General Manager Wins National Murrow
SCCtv General Manager John Sharify has been awarded the 2008 National Edward R. Murrow Award for Writing which recognizes the top large market broadcast news writer in the country.  The Edward R. Murrow Awards, awarded by the Radio-Television News Directors Association, honor outstanding achievements in electronic journalism.  Murrow's pursuit of excellence in journalism embodies the spirit of the awards that carry his name.  John has the rare distinction of being a three time winner of the coveted National Murrow Award for Writing, receiving the award in 2004, 2007 and now, 2008.  The SCCtv staff congratulates John on this unique achievement.

Seattle's Office of Emergency Management Recognized for Employee Preparedness Web-Based Training

Mayor Greg Nickels announced Thursday that Seattle Office of Emergency Management has been awarded the Technology and Innovation Award by the International Association of Emergency Management for developing a web-based personal preparedness training program for city employees.
